I am having a very hard time to get rid of vundo. I can boot into windows but it will not boot into safe mode. Also, I was asked to not reformat. So I need to clean this up without reformat if possible. I keep getting different pop ups. Some of them say amaena.com. Also errorsafe

Download WinPFind
  • Right Click the Zip Folder and Select "Extract All"
  • Extract it somewhere you will remember like the Desktop
  • Don’t do anything with it yet!

Click here for info on how to boot to safe mode if you don't already know how.

Reboot into Safe Mode.

Double click WinPFind.exe
  • Click "Start Scan"
  • It will scan the entire System, so please be patient and let it complete.

Reboot back to Normal Mode!

  • Go to the WinPFind folder
  • Locate WinPFind.txt
  • Copy and paste WinPFind.txt in your next post here please.

Here is the problem. I cannot get into safe mode. Or I should say I don't get a desktop. I get to a black screen that says safe mode at the four corners and Microsoft Windows xp and the build number at the top middle. I can bring up task manager and see processes but I get no desktop. I am going to try sfc /scannow and see if I can fix whats wrong so I can get into safe mode.

The computer boots in normal mode. Or are talking about the winpfind.exe? I didn't try that but will now. This Mcaffee Viruscan is constantly finding vundo. It doesn't seem to be doing anything. It has file=. It looks like it needs me to fill in blanks. I also get this message frequently. Viruscan On-Acess Scan Messages It finds a virus after start up and then in front of it I get this message. It is an error message with a white x in a red circle that says. usjnehbc.exe bad image. The application or dll C:\WINDOWS\Fonts\awvecm.dll is not a valid Windows image. Please check against your installation diskette. I get this same message in different forms with every boot.
