I bought C&C generals a long time ago but couldnt play it because my video card sucked. I bought a new one, the ati radeon 9600 xt, I can now play the games but I dont notice any difference at all. My computer specs are as follows:
Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.53 GHz
512 mb ram, except for some reason it says 510 whats with that?
as mentioned I have the ati 9600 xt 128mb.
Yet I cant tell any difference in video quality. I also just bought unreal tournament 2004 and when playing it on 800X600X32 I get frame rates that fluxuate between 15 and 91 fps. It averages about 41 fps in normal play, but when there are tons of people in the screen with crap flying everywhere it drops like a rock to 20 or so fps. With this video card I thought I could play it on a much higher resolution and be fine but at the minimum I am getting less than stellar performance. I'd rather not overclock the card as I am not experienced in such things, but is there anything else I could do to make the performance better? If you need more info about the computer to help, let me know, thank you thank you thank you so much for the help you people who help out us less experienced folk are awesome!
