You can still get your files by slaving your HDD to other computer before resetting/reformatting it.

Please help Windows not loading
Hello, so today I updates my laptops integrated graphics driver and got prompted to restart windows and I did. However after this I was welcomed with code from a AVG Watchdog and stopped working after phase 1. The laptop is completely unusable, I've tried going into safe mode but it gets stuck on avgidsha.sys when loading. Ive googled my problem and it seems a fair few have the same problem yet i only found one person who got the problem fixed. I don't have any Logitech devices installed or plugged in and i have started my laptop without any usb drives inserted. I don't have any disk for the avg thing and I am operating Windows 7. Please help as this is very annoying and I don't want to hard reset as I have many valuable photos and files.

Hello I actually fixed it, I did a lot of messing around and found a solution. I got into the BIOS and changed the Sata mode to IDE. After restart this caused Windows to crash which allowed me to access the repair tools, from here I went to an old recovery saved. I then went back to the default Sata mode and continued Windows normally and all is fixed. Uninstalling AVG, sorry for wasting your time but hopefully this can be useful for you in the future
