Quicktime is only used to watch movies or videos and not to edit videos. You need a video editing program like final cut pro or another program which is compatible with Mac.
Please help! trying to add sound to a video on quicktime
I've got a video on QuickTime that I need to add music to in the background. The music that I have is on my iTunes. I'm trying to put that sound file in the video. I'm currently using an old MacBook pro. Does anyone have any ideas how I can do that. It should be simple enough right?

Yes and no. Quicktime is a player, Quicktime Pro has editing capability.

I think Quicktime has no more support since January 2016. Not sure about Macs.
