Yes I have my grandma's computer (windows xp, sp2) with the dsl modem and netgear wireless router, then my laptop with internal wireless to use the internet from hers, i also have my xbox 360 hooked on to the internet but only on rare occasions heres my prob.


Every once in a while i'll be using the internet and my network icon will suddenly switch from connected to not connected, then it'll go back to the way it was but it will not send or recieve any packets. My grandma's computer wont be able to get on the internet and neither will I, I have to go up stairs unplug the power cords from both the router and modem and reset them, i know its not like torture but its an annoying problem can any help me fix this, i dont have firewalls on either computer. so i know its not that and im within range of the network.

try control panel.admin tools ,event viewer,system to see if any logs have been created with error codes.my signals bounce about all over the place especially when near by neighbours use there sky box
