You should not have CUT
you should have copied and pasted to the hard drive
Then and only after ensuirng you had them all should you have deleted them from the phone
When you copy something, Windows makes a copy of the information you want to the Clipboard and also leaves it in its original location. In contrast, when you perform the cut operation, Windows copies the information to the Clipboard but also removes the information from the original location.
My guess is that your clipboard did not have sufficient space for the total pictures and therefore only the 30% it could hold were copied and then pasted.
The capacity of the clipboard is the size of your available ram.
