I'm looking for a shareware/freeware photo editing program. Basically it needs to be able to crop images and lighten/darken them. That's it. Any suggestions?

I'm going to mess around with MS Paint now to see if I can get it to do what I want.

www.irfanview.com will do that fine. It is a viewer and not an image editor, but it crops and lightens as well as anything else. Image>Enhance Colors has a brightness slider. To crop just drag with a left click and when you have the crop you want go Edit>Crop Selection.
