Hello !
In my Win XP Home sys.I've both IE 7 & Firefox browser installed for using net. I'm experiencing at least two difficulties - which I'm detailing below:
- while downloading a file from a site through IE 7, I've noticed that the file has been downloaded in to the Temp. Folder and I've to again go for searching to that folder for retrieving out the dwnldd file to my chosen folder. Can I personalize the settings so I can download a file (thru IE 7) to my chosen folder?
- I cannot dwnld the MS Update or dwnld any file from microsoft.com by using Firefox. Is Firefox not the compatible one for that site?

Go to Control Panel/System/Advanced/Enviornment Variables.
There is a variable there for TEMP. It usually points to C:\Documents and Settings\User\Local Settings\Temp. Highlight this variable, click edit, and change the path to reflect where you would like the dowloaded files stored. CLick OK and apply.
An easier way is to choose "save" rather than "Run" and choosing where you wuld like to store it.
As far as I know, IE is the only browser that will let you run Windows update.
