OK, so I made the mistake of setting up Microsoft's Personal Web Server. After reading up on all the problems and security holes this thing has, I decided to remove it. That has been my problem. I've finally gotten to the point where after following instructions from another thread, I was able to at least remove what I thought was the last folder and files of this system ie: taking my Win 98 SE disc and doing the run D:\add-ons\pws\setup.exe and clickinbg next followed by clicking uninstall. Well, that finally did remove the remainder of pws. But I still have this thing called MS DTC Server in my Control Panel. In addition when I click Programs, just about all of my programs have that icon that resembles a webpage, and when I right click the programs the same icon appears in front of the folder icon. My question is twofold. 1) Is there any way of removing the MS DTC from the Control Panel. And How do I finally get rid of the webpage icon from all of my programs. By the webpage icon being there, does that mean PWS is still someplace in the system.
Please help, I want control of my computer again.
