i have a Soyo M/B with onboard USB controller..... but dint have any ports so i put in a PCI card to add USB ports.

however in Device Manager the USB Root Hub attached to the PCI to USB Universal Host Controller has a !-bang..... it says "Due to Hub Transfer Request Failures., a Hub has been disabled...check cabling and restart computer"

tried to disable the Onboard Root Hub from Device Manager but no go... anything i can tweak in the BIOS or is the Card Fragged???

first off, remove all usb hubs, devices in device manager - don't disable - both the onboard and for the card. Then go into the bios and disable the onboard usb. now restart the computer and see if you still have the problem. Oh is it usb 1.0 or 2.0? If 2 you need to install the correct drivers from the disk they came with.

SOLVED !!

i checked the IRQ connections and found out the USB Root Hub on the CARD wasnt working.

so i went into the BIOS and Disabled "PnP OS" and ENABLED "Reserve IRQ for USB" that did the trick.... !!!
