Hi there, I was wondering if anyone knows of a PCI graphics card that works under windows 7 x64 and could handle a pair of small monitors with aero enabled without busting a nut. Tried various sources, including the windows compatibility lists, but got no straight answers. Any help would be much appreciated. :)

I'm assuming you mean X16 PCI...If you only want one that runs 2 monitors and no gaming then you could probubly go for one of the old Mainstream Gaming Graphics Cards...what video input do the monitors use, VGA or DVI?

(I recommend something like this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/ASUS-512MB-...I9JK/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1294256970&sr=8-4)

(If your looking for something a bit more hardcore for gaming and such, I just recently bought this one:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/XFX-Radeon-...113K/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1292492054&sr=8-1)

Sorry for the late reply, internet's been out. I'm after an old PCI (not express) card, hence the difficulty finding one that'll work with win7 x64. I've already tried an ancient card I had lying around but supports long gone and there's no x64 driver for any OS, let alone 7. The only reason I want one is I have a pair of old monitors gathering dust, but both outputs on my gtx460 are being used already and I only have one PCI-e slot. So I figure a PCI card might just be up to the job, it's either that, a new motherboard, or some ridiculously expensive Matrox solution to fuel my hunger for more desktop space.

Hmm, I have heard that you can buy USB Graphics Cards build exacly for your purpose:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/StarTech-co...I6CI/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1294403340&sr=8-7

(Obviouslly your not doing anything else other then use these for multi-monitoring though)

Hope that Helps!

Theres also some other wierd tecnology that splits a VGA I/O and expands it to resolutions like 4000X1024 basically producing two screens, though this is expensive so the USB options probubly the way to go..

Only other real option is get the drivers to somehow work on 7 or jury-rig the driver somehow..Hmm, Wait I'm sure 7 comes with a Universal Standard VGA Driver? That might work as you don't exacly need the performance just the 2 display outputs to work..
