 First go into the systems BIOS setup and make sure that the boot order starts with the floppy drive. Turn the machine off completley. Insert the startup disk, then turn on the computer. Choose start computer without CD Rom support. When you get to the A:\> prompt type the following (without the quotes)
"fdisk /mbr". Press Enter. This command repairs/replaces the Master Boot Record on the hard drive. After it completes, remove the startup disk and reboot the computer.

The hardrive could be bad but you should still be able to get the PC to boot to a Boot Diskette. That's not dependent on the hardrive.

Just to be sure, have you been able to successfully boot to a boot diskette since your first post of this topic?
