Hi i'm on my sisters computer at the moment and for the past week or so she has been having trouble with her windows XP. it keeps randomly closing out of Internet browser windows and shutting down, displaying an error message saying 'you have 1 minute before shutting down' (or something along those lines) then counts down and shuts down. i just had to rewrite this message because the window closed on me. any suggestions? thanks

That is indicative of the Blaster Worm, which would indicate that the PC has no firewall installed or active and has not had the Windows updates done?

What Windows version?

If the above is true, then the computer is also probably heavily infected.

HIJACK THIS:

Download and copy hijackthis to its own folder , it makes backups so keeping them separate and available can be useful.
SO DO NOT put hjt onto the desktop or temp files.

create a directory say my documents/hjt
