Pc 2100 Ram?

640 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  todd6926
I currently have 1 GB of RAM on my computer. I am thinking about buying a new processor. Would I only be able to install the RAM I have now on a processor that uses PC 2100 or can PC 2100 also be used in place of other RAM. And if so, what other RAM would it be interchangeable with? Thanks for any info.

Hmm...let me see if i have this straight.

You have a MOTHERBOARD that is compatible with PC2100 ram (processors really are compatible with any ram...but thats another story). Now you want a new processor, and want to know if the ram is compatible...

Here's what you need to know:

The motherboard is what is most important. Find out what type of processor your motherboard can handle. Post your motherboard and NEW processor's info here (Brand, model number, speed of processor)

As long as you are not changing your motherboard, you do not need new ram. You must make sure that the processor you want is compatible though.
Thanks for the info. Time to do some window shopping.
