Is this possible? I know it was with XP, but it was kind of useless because it didn't ask for it when you opened the file, you just had to be logged in to your user account, I believe.

Like TerryNet said, you'd have to utilize third party software. The most you can do within Windows 7 itself is to right click the file and go to "properties." From there, you can change the security settings on the specific file if you're using a shared computer. It won't necessarily provide your file with password protection, but it can limit who has access to it.
