Hi again -

I am using MS Outlook 2007 (although i had the same problem with Outlook 2003). I keep getting e-mail stuck in the outbox.

I have tried everything i can find on the MS website, including the Inbox Repair tool and starting a brand new .pst file. The size of the current file is approx. 400MB.

Yesterday i finally got a new .pst file started, with everything moved to the new file (except the stuff in the outbox of course). It worked fine for about 1/2 day.

Today another e-mail got stuck in the outbox. It sends and receives, but the e-mail just sits there. E-mails added to the outbox after it are sent just fine. It's like i need to have one e-mail in the outbox before anything will be sent. If i delete the e-mail, the next one added to the outbox gets stuck there.

I really thought starting a new .pst file would fix things, but it didnt.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

What do you mean by ISP Webmail issue?

I am using a pop3 account (2 accounts actually). Definately not throw away accounts unfortunately.

it may be an issue with the people who supply your internet connection or with the email accounts

if you have two pop accounts
try setting the other account as default and then resend the mail again see it it works OK with the 2nd account

I tried sending it with the second account, but it didn't work.

Maybe it is the cable provider (although i don't know how).

If i move the .pst file to my laptop, it still won't send. It's frustrating, but i can live with it. If i re-create the exact same e-mail, the 2nd copy goes out just fine, while the first one just sits there.

Even if there is only e-mail in the account (before it got stuck and was working correctly), if i sent an e-mail, the little pop-up at the bottom of the outlook screen said "sending message 2 of 2). Hmmm...?????????

Tony -

I didn't really solve the problem. I was due for a computer upgrade - so i upgraded to a new machine with Vista. I set up the new profile on the new computer, and moved the .pst data to the new computer. I don't remember if i just moved the pst file, or if i did a big export / import. I think i did a little of both - i do remember it was not a smooth transition. I had two calendars for at least a month.

E-mails no longer get stuck in the outbox, but if i have 1 e-mail ready to send, the little message notification in the bottom right corner says "sending message 2 of 2", even though there is only one message being sent. Weird, but since it works, i haven't tried anything else.

I'm sorry i'm not really much help ... i wish i knew more about our problem.

Good Luck (and i hope you don't have to buy a new computer to solve this:) )

I have a similar problem. Outlook 2003, when I send an email with an attachment it stays in my outbox and sends, and sends, and sends.... I found a suggestion that my sent items box had exceeded some limit, but that has been cleaned out and the problem persists.
Emails without attachments tend to behave normally.
All suggestions gratefully received.
