Hi,

Whenever I try setting up a Hotmail account to work on Outlook 2003, it won't be able to receive test e-mails that I send. They do not show up anywhere. If anybody could help, it would be greatly appriciated.

-Simon :)

PS: I'm running Media Center '05.

Hi dungeonguard

Welcome to Tech Support Guy Forums!

Is your Hotmail account a Free account or a paid account?
If it is a free account, free POP access was turned off a few years ago.

If your Hotmail account is a paid account, are you creating a Test message yourself or using the Test Account Settings button?

Let us know.

It's a free account. The reason I'm asking is so my mother can access her e-mails without going to the Hotmail page.

You could try a search on Google for a program that can download Hotmail to the harddrive.
I have a free Hotmail account and at least twice mine has been reset for not logging into it once every 30 days.
All messages were removed when that occurred.

Why not create a shortcut on the Desktop for her?
Or, get the paid version of Hotmail?
Gmail has POP capability....

Trial version for this program is for 30 days,
after that register it for $20.00

Hotmail Plus $19.95 per year...
