First let me state that I've been perusing these forums all day. I've searched through the Archives and the only thread that I can find that has a similar problem is the Outlook 2000: Opens Only in Safe Mode thread.

My problem is different because I'm running Windows XP and Office XP (aka Office 2002). Every time I try to start Outlook it gives me the message
Outlook failed to start correctly last time. Starting Outlook in safe mode will help you correct or isolate a startup problem in order to successfully start the program. Some functionality may be disabled in this mode.

Do you want to start Outlook in safe mode?
Or prompts me with the Send Error Report to Microsoft with a little check box to Restart Outlook. If I restart Outlook, I get the same dialog as above. If I click yes, Outlook starts up fine, minus my Preview panes being turned off.

Solutions I've tried:
- I've Rebooted several times
- I've gone through the "About Outlook" and tried to re-enable the disabled items, but there are none listed.
- I've reinstalled Office XP twice
- I tried the Detect and Repair Option in Outlook, the only thing it managed to do was delete my PST file (That hour of devastion has past and I'm now just trying to get it RUN correctly).
- I've tried deleting a few Registry Keys ala MS advice
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;319517&Product=offxp
- I've followed the advice in the previously mentioned thread, but apparently there is no Eraser utility for Office XP and deleting those files wont work because they apparently don't exist with those names in Office XP

Every time I reinstall it comes up with the same message. Please help, I'm at my wits end...

Nope.

Here's something interesting. I just got Office 2003 and installed it hoping the problem would go away.

NOPE. Even after installing Outlook 2003. I'm getting the same problem...

*cries*

Woot!

Why did that happen though?

Thanks cybertech. I appreciate your patience and what you do on these forums.
