Ok here is an odd one:

We intermittently have problems with some of our users. A visitor will come from one site to another login open outlook and they will see their emails disappear.

What is actually happening is that a personal folder has automatically been created and the 'deliver new e-mail to the following location' has changed from Mailbox - username to Personal Folders. Within Outlook two mailboxes appear one being the User's the other the personal folder and all mail has been transfered the personal folders.

The personal folders is stored as a local PST file. So to resolve the issue really isnt a problem. Change the Deliver location back to the User's mailbox. Copy the mail back and close the personal folder.

The issue is that it happens at all. Some users dont notice that the mail has transfered to a local pst and when they go to another PC they appear to have lost all emails!! Recently this has happened where the emails appear to disappear in the same way yet they are not in the local pst, deleted items, permanently deleted items or any other archive files on the PC or network!

This does not appear to be related to autoarhcive as we have it disabled on the PCs. I dont know if there could be a server setting somewhere that could cause this.

The difficulty in resolving this issue is that it does not happen all the time for every person even on the same visitor PC!
