Go to Tools, Folder Options and click on the View tab. Make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is checked. Also uncheck "Hide protected operating system files". Now click "Apply to all folders"
Click "Apply" then "OK"

Now search for *.pst; *.pab
pst is personal folders
pab is personal address book

It sounds like they can open the PST file just fine. It is an individual e-mail that can't be deleted.

Sometimes this happens or it gets stuck in the Deleted folder and can't be removed from there.

One way around this is to create an additional Personal Folder.

More all the In-Box, Contacts ect to that new folder (except for the e-mail you don't want).

Then reconfigure Outlook to not use the original Personal Folder.

Depending on what version of Outlook you have or how it is configured, the actual steps for this can vary.
