I know, it was incredabily stupid. I managed 2 get infected with a worm virus (which I have now uninstalled and removed) but afterwards I managed 2 delete one of my 2 hard drives as well. I cant system restore 2 an earlier date and im generlly unhappy. can anyone help please

press del. as you boot up if this does not take you into the bios,look at the bottom of the boot screens one will tell what key to press.
then look to see if your h/d is listed,if it's not check the eide cable has not come loose

What Windows version are you using?? XP, ME, 98??

Checking BIOS:
When you start the computer it will usually display a list of the total memory and all the drives attached.

If that goes by too quick, you can go directly into BIOS and check what it has detected as attached to the computer.

Getting into BIOS usually involves pressing DEL or one of the F# (F1, F11, F10, etc.) keys "to enter Setup."

Once in the BIOS, go to "Standard CMOS Settings/Features" and see what's listed in the harddrive list.

Press ESC to exit.
