This is for those of you that want a simpler way to shut down your computer other than Start > shutdown > etc.

As shown below, you can simply right click and select an option. Or, as the site says: "One-Touch Shutdown is the fastest way to shutdown your computer, all you need to do is double click the system tray icon. The function is switchable so it can be changed to Log Off, go on Stand By or even Reboot. Plus theres a few extra features like "Eject CD". One-Touch Shutdown is free for personal and non-profit uses. It is freeware and therefore can be distributed freely without profit.

I don't have XP, nor will I in the forseeable future. I run W2K.

I had one click shortcuts on my Launch Bar for W98se but they don't work for NT, OS's.

I am not actually using the one above myself. I have a dual boot and I found another one-click app that allows for direct booting from one OS to another while bypassing the Windows restart and boot menu sequence:

All I did was make a shortcut to any prog then change the target to

%windir%\System32\shutdown.exe -s -t 00

to shutdown

or

%windir%\System32\shutdown.exe -r -t 00

to restart

then changed the icon to suit

seems to work ok for me on xp pro

You can also set ME to shut down by touching the power button. One feature I really love about ME. (No pun intended)

hello buddhafabio:

As far as I know, 2000 doesn't have that feature. But that's ok because I'm very happy with my Restart app.:D

You know, somehow i have a better solution. Its called 'alt+F4'. It shuts down the window thats highlighted at the moment, or if your on the desktop, bring up the shutdown options(shutdown, restart, hibernate, standby, etc.), for both XP and 98.
