Ok, in an effort to keep myself away from playing too much God of War with my roommate, I am tasking myself to accomplish the following:

Get the install of Suse I just put on my computer worth the effort by getting the wireless networking card functioning so I can stop using windows.

I don't know the exact model number of the card, but I do know that it is a Linksys and it's an old wireless B (I bought it right along side a WPC11 v.4 PCMCIA for my laptop as well as a wireless B router...but don't remember the model number on it either...I'm not at home right now to look).

So, without TOO much detail, what's the best course of action for finding a driver, and once I find one, how do I install it?

Odd. Try it again or check your connection - it still works for me, as it has before. Great site if you can pull it up. It lists cards by chipset, manufacturer, or interface, then lists driver locations and compatibility.

I think I'm going to try and see if I can pull this off on my laptop before I attempt on my PC.

So, my laptop has a Linksys WPC11 ver.4 pcmcia card.

According to the listing provided in the link, it's green (for yes, it works). So I clicked on the associated link http://rtl8180-sa2400.sourceforge.net/

Now... what do I do with this information? It doesn't seem to actually provide a download link, unless it's talking about some sort of FTP server or something at the bottom of the page...

Edit: I'm running ubuntu on a live CD on my laptop and the networking card worked right after I simply enabled it. I will try this again on my PC to see if I overlooked it last time.

However, it did not detect the sound card. I am using an old Armada 7800 laptop. This isn't related to the previous question, but any advice for tackling this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Second edit:

I did some googling about the sound card problem on the armada 7800, and it's an ISA card.

I think this will do the trick:

You have exactly the same sound card as the one in my laptop (ES1878). Just download kernel-isa-2.6.9-42.0.3.plus.c4.el4.i686.rpm, add those lines I mentioned to /etc/modprobe.conf (remember to set port, irq, dma1, dma2 and so on to match what you have setup in BIOS), reboot into the new kernel and you should be fine.
