Old lg flatron works with older laptop but not with new pc.

bought a used LG FLATRON L1953TR monitor today ,it doesn't work.On my desktop when connected to the integrated gpu it doesn't display the red color, only green and blue, and on the gtx750ti it just says ''check signal cable'' ( both ports work on a connected to a modern monitor. )
But when the old LG monitor is connected to my laptop it works flawlessly.

I am using the same vga cable that came with the monitor to connect everything.

on the internet i didnt find anyone with my situation ( everyone who had this problem didn't have another monitor to test this out and and it was a bios setting problem for them ( which mine shouldn't be since my desktop pc works on the new monitor.

So my question is - could it be that the monitor is faulty? im planning to return it once the store opens up in the morning since if i have a problem i can just get my money back. or is this a problem that could easliy be fixed and spare me going back to the place i got it and then finding another one.

my desktop pc:
core 2 quad q8300
intel DQ45CB motherboard
msi gtx750ti 2gb
2x 2gb ddr2
500gb hdd
300w psu

I'm no sure what works with what, your post is a bit confusing, but if you get a good display with the LG monitor on any of the computers then the problem is unlikely to be the LG monitor itself.

I just edited the post, the thing is everything works perfectly on a new monitor. so it wouldnt be my desktop thats at fault.
is it possible that the older monitor wouldnt work with a new gpu, cause i thought the vga is backwards compatible.
Thanks for editing the first post. Yes that's possible if the LG can't cope with the resolution the new Gpu is outputting, try setting the new Gpu to a lower resolution.
Try 1280x1024, that's the native resolution for that LG.

wanted to try it out but it didnt show any input. maybe the vga cable that came with the LG monitor could be faulty.
pc seems to boot fully. beeping only once shortly ( the standart '' boot ok'' code ) I will try to use a hdmi or any other cable which i am 100% sure worksin the morning. dont want to look for it in the middle of night. will update in the morning.

The problem was the vga cable, took it back, got a different cable. now it works flawlessly.
that explains the behaviour with the monitor not displaying red, one of the signals on the vga pins.
Glad you found the cause and fixed it ! (y)

(The resolutions the monitor can use are often sent to the computer through the Vga cable).
