Hello I am recieving the following error from OE 6:

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account: 'pop.ameritech.yahoo.com', Server: 'smtp.ameritech.yahoo.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F[/b]

This is a recent error, which only started within the last few days. I havent installed or changed anything major. I can receive e-mail without a problem but I cannot send.

I have tried the following things:

1. Checked all settings, they comply with ISP.
2. Checked firewall and antivirus for blocking, none was there.
3. Disabled those and tried, did not work.
4. Tried Outlook 2002, same error.

As far as I can tell there is nothing wrong here, and my ISP assures me there is nothing wrong on their end. Any suggestions would be helpful. Is it possible my college network could be causing this?

You should discuss this with your College IT Administrator, as it could be a firewall setting on the College system.

Ok thanks for the ideas. I had consulted with the knowledge database earlier and I had already tried microsoft's workaround. I guess I will have to contact my IT. Thanks again!
