I am running WXP and Firefox browser.

When I try to run NDD I get this message:

The OS, or another process, currently has exclusive access to this drive or some of it's files. NDD cannot contine with repair under these conditions.
A repair can be scheduled to occur the next time you restart you system

would you like to schedule a repair?

I click yes and restart and on my monitor during restart it shows:
Checking file system on C:
The type of file system is NTFS

It then shows chkdsk verifying file, indexes, security descriptors, file data, etc. It finishes and them restarts.

Why does this happen? NSW 2005 is new to me and I did not have this problem using Disk Doctor before.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,

skyman

Make sure that the "fix errors" box in the lower left-hand corner of the disk doctor window is unchecked. In order for NDD to repair any files, it must have exclusive access of your drive by rebooting directly into the program. By unchecking the box it should run without having to restart.

Thanks for the info. I just got a new computer and it has Win XP. I have been using
Win 98 for about 8 years and have had Norton System Works for that period of time
and NDD never acted like that before.

I will use your suggestion,

Thanks,
