I have just installed the above and down loaded the updates.
Now my computer is so slow its a joke, is this usual,It has also crashed twice,dont tell me I have paid good money for trouble.

Which version of Norton are you using?
Norton AV can slow down a system in certain areas. Where are these slowdowns occurring?

2004 plus I have down loaded the up dates.

Norton 2004 is a bloated pig! I installed it and it dragged my system down. I uninstalled it and reinstalled my Norton 2002 and it runs much faster.

I have to agree with Lance that 2004 is a bit overweight and requires much resources. Symantec has incorporated spyware detectors, Keylogger detectors, spam filters, etc, etc, which have bogged down its applications. There are many other third party programs on the Internet that do the same job as these add-ons and do it more efficiently, plus may are free. I personally have discontinued use of that product for new machines and am converting others when subscriptions come due.
If NAV 2004 is performing it function without error then I believe you are a victim of its bulkiness.
