What version are you using?

Do you ever see any errors during LiveUpdate?
You see the list of updates, watch them download, and then install?

I'd like to find out what causing your problem but you can also try downloading the file from here.

I have norton AV 5.0.
I'm able to d/l all the updates without a problem and load them.
But it still shows 7/12/99.
I'm still trying to find my live update version.

Okay

You have SystemWorks with Norton AntiVirus 2002 8.x for Windows 2000/NT/Me/98/XP.

Well, I have found this

http://service2.symantec.com/SUPPOR..._solve_lu.html&sone=nav_2002_tasks.html&tpre=

And it says:

1. Run LiveUpdate and download program updates.
2. Run LiveUpdate again until no more program updates are available.
3. Download and install the file Lrsetup.exe.
4. Run LiveUpdate again and download the remaining updates
I know that you say they are being downloaded ok, but they're not being installed correctly. This may due to the LiveUpdate.

I know you are. Its part of System Works.

Going to Norton's site, they don't seem to have Norton AV 5 on its own. They have 7 on its own, but then you may have an older copy.

Its Probably being packaged into System works now. The fix will still work, its the same for most versions.

Isn't NAV one of the more difficult programs to uninstall since it leaves a lot of unwanted files behind?
Isn't it bad for my system?
If it isn't then I'll try it.
Thanks again.

Hiya

As for the uninstalling and the removing of unwanted files, you're just doing what Tony's link said. It says to Delete the \VirusDefs folder. Have you not tried his link yet? Completly uninstalling it isn't what you will be doing here.

if it still dosen't work after Tony's link, then we'll think about uninstalling fully.

The VirusDefs files get replace each time you up date any way. Ever time you get an up you down all the def file again.

You will see two def folders like this here.
20011124.002
20011205.022
They are the last two updates.
They show the dates too.

So 20011205.022 is
2001 12, 05 the other one is a backup.
When you do a update the Incoming folder will make a new one 20011206.022 and when it's all done the the older 20011124.002 gets deleted.

So what are the dates on the folders?
Do you have more then two.

Also if you look at the Definfo file it will have the dates in it.
Mine say this.
[DefDates]
CurDefs=20011205.022
LastDefs=20011124.002

I have Norton Disk Doctor so it shows the NAV and the update date on it and sometimes the date will not change when done. But if I open the NAV up then it will update the date on NAV in Norton Disk Doctor window.
