hey guys, I've been using this phone (Nokia 7210) for the past year now and its not hard to say that I've been completely disappointed with the phones performance.

about a month back, the built in calculator suddenly vanished. i've restored the factory settings about 5 times and have had no luck.

just a week back, the phones music player also stopped working. it displays NOT ENOUGH MEMORY even though i have almost the entire phone memory empty, no programs/games/themes installed and about 1GB empty out of the 2 GB card that i have placed in the card slot

for the past 2 to 3 months I've been facing another problem. The screen sometimes goes white on startup or even when the phone is on standby and then i have to take the battery out and leave the phone like that for about an hour. after that when finally the phone does switch on, all the items in the phone memory get deleted. even the photographs and the wallpaper that i had put.

i would really appreciate any kind of help if possible.
regards

the service center guys kept the phone for about a fortnight and still the problem persisted. when i went back to them, they said that there was nothing they could do as the phone was no longer under warranty.

I don't mind paying as long as my cell gets back to normal, problem is it never gets 100% back to normal.....
And I do have a problem with paying repeatedly for the same problem....Afterall, I'm not Nokia's ATM machine.

You can see my thread here:

Hope it gets back normal this time, or seriously...... do you guys have any idea how to contact Nokia directly (not Nokia Care or any other customer support) ?

If it never comes back to normal after paying to fix it - it's simply not worth it. Maybe, time for a new device?

AFAIK, there is no way you can contact directly other than email, but that too goes to the customer care division who advice you to go to the nearest Nokia Care center.

From what I know, this particular model has had a lot of issues. A friend of mine had it and it was a nightmare. I'm not against Nokia, but not all their devices are good. Make sure you do a bit of research before you pick up your next phone. :)

In case, I do have to buy a new device, I guess, I know which brand to avoid....

Can you guys suggest something for both of us here. I'm sure anujchopra will consider buying a new phone too at a certain point of time..... Which phone would you have bought with features similar to Nokia 7210 Supernova (maybe with an added document reader too)? Not another Nokia, please....(And needless to say, I will give a thumbs up for a cell which will not burn a hole in my pocket ;) )

The Samsung Galaxy Android phones are pretty good. They are cheap and I heard that they come in decent contracts in the US. anujchopra is an Indian, so I'd recommend he buys the Samsung Galaxy POP (same is available in the US under a different name).

Guys! The procedure is calling flashing and I believe in my case it was Dead Phone Flashing....

Google it, follow the procedures and flash your phone at home..... I did it and its running ok for 10 days already :)

Happy Flashing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :)

Meanwhile, don't ever think of buying another Nokia phone.... Say "NO" to Nokia!!!!!

Hello fasteraman!!! Welcome to TSG!!! :)

As I said before, the procedure is called Dead Phone Flashing....
I'd suggest googling it... I'm sure the procedure is somewhere there coz I used it myself!! But oddly, I can't find anymore :(

As far as I remember, you'll be needing your phone firmware and Phoenix service suite...
