Is it possible to disable NOD32 and run AVG on one computer? I know it's not good to have 2 AV programs on your PC, but what if I disable one of them? Will it work?

The thing is, I have problems with NOD. It can't update. Apparently I'm not on the correct server, and thus the update process fails regularly.
That is why I want to know if disabling NOD32 and installing AVG will be good? I don't want to remove NOD, just in case I want to use it again.
