Hi, I need to find out how to get windows started again. I the last thing I remember doing to my computer (notebook) was trying to uninstall some ad's, but I think I kicked off something more important. When I try to get into windows after the log in screen, There is an error that has occured in HPWirelessMgr Module. It gives the send/dont send option and I tried to view the error report. The error signature is

szAppName:HPWirelessMgr.exe sxModName: atl.dll
(don't know if this will help)

The Error Report Contents have these two files listed in the report
C:\docume~1\Owner\Locals~1\Temp\WERf675.dir00\HPWirlessMgr.exe.mdmp
C:\"\appcompat.txt

After the report is sent or not sent (I tried both to see if it would work), windows does not start, and I stare at the same screen. I can go through the task manager to start things, but it can only do a few things there. I tried putting in the recover cd, but there are two different types of errors I get for the different files.

From the Task Manager, the PQLAUNCH.exe file on the recover cd, I think is what I need to run the recover disk, but it says that it is not suitable for running in MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows Applications. I can either close or ignore the problem.

There is also PCRECOVR.BAT, and it says Windows cannot open this file and wants to either use the web or select from a list to run the program. I tried to get into the CD from Safe Mode in MS-DOS, but I still cant get anything going. I'm not quite sure if this is a hardware problem or a software problem, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Is there a repair option on the recovery cd? Windows retail versions have this and let you repair Windows.

I'd boot to safe mode and remove that missing program from start-up. Start > run > msconfig

There isn't any way to get the start button up from either safe-mode or normal startup. There is only a blank screen with no icons, no task bar, and no start button. But there is the ability to open Task Manager. The Windows CD I have also doesn't want to repair anything because it knows SP1 is out of date because SP2 is installed.
