I have had many computers in the past and was always able to enable stereo mix on the sound card. I now have a HP laptop that I cannot enable or find it on. I have looked for updated drivers on Realtek site to no avail. I have tried "fixes" from searches on the web and nothing works . Any help or ideas out there?

I have downloaded latest driver from Realtek. I have also tried to find stereo mix in sound settings by clicking on show disabled and disconnected devices. I have uninstalled audio drivers in Device manager and then installed the newest drivers from realtek. I have not owned this computer for very long but have never been able to see stereo mix. I have owned 6 or 8 other computers and have always had stereo mix on them. If I can give any more info let me know and thanks for responding.

Thank you for the information. It looks like you have tried the things that I would have suggested.
One possibility to consider is that maybe an older set of Realtek drivers that are compatible with Windows 10 may support Stereo Mix.

OT note for the poster, after seeing the version of Windows 10:
Windows 10 21H2 drops out of support in June. Make sure your machine is on 22H2.

Did the computer come with Windows 10?
For the future: if something doesn't work in a Windows version (like 10) , don't upgrade to a different version (like 11).

I've not seen this be a Windows issue. Features such as "stereo mix" or "what you hear" are audio chipset AND audio driver features.
There may be a software solution that could work, but the name of the software eludes me at the moment.
