Used to have win98SE then i was told to type /deltree to get rid of a virus but it deleted the entire harddrive of everything how would I fix this and or can i?

Hi typing Deltree will wipe your hard drive .
A reinstall looks like your only option.
Do you have original install Cd?

yeah but it doesnt have a cd drive to reinstall from i jus get dos command line stuff its a compaq laptop btw not a desktop tower or anything

Your only option is to reinstall everything from floppy disks. If you don't have these floppy disks to install from, you can try purchasing them on eBay. Otherwise, you're out of luck.

Oh, and whoever told you to run deltree to fix your problem did you a great disservice. I would let that person know you're not happy with their advice.

Umm thanks its a older laptop only supports 95 and nt but, i think ill get my hp nc8230 laptop working cause it supports vista how would i go about buying a new power cable for this computer?
