Using windows 98 on IBM NetVista machine. When the computer boots up it comes to a black screen with directional arrows flashing. F1 is flashing - when you press it the following message occurs:
Cannot find operating system.

162 Configuration change has occurred.
1762 Configuration change has occurred.
You can go into setup but can only exit back to the same black screen with F1 flashing.

Hi,

Have you added any hardware to your system lately? That is what I believe a 162 error is, which means you would need to get into the bios to save the current settings.
When you're in just scroll down to save and exit. Are you able to do that when you're in setup?

I tried your suggestion but still get the same errors. Thanks for trying to help though!
