This computer has "no" video display....screen is black and powers itself down after a very little bit.

Have replaced video card & monitor with no luck what-so-ever!

This computer locked up after using USB port. After that...No Display

Any ideas???

Start with the basics; pull the power connectors from ALL drives both optical and hd. Next disconnect any usb devices, disconnect any printer, scanner, etc. Now power on the system and see if it will post. If it does, reconnect hardware one device at a time until you find the one causing the problems.

If it does not post, try resetting cmos using the clear jumper. If it still will not post, you will need to swap in known good parts; ie ram, power supply, cpu, motherboard.

Firstly you need to determine if the computer is even booting up, as unless it does there can be no display.

The fans and drives going does not necessarily mean that the PC is going.

When you believe it should have booted, try the Caps Lock key, the Keyboard light for Caps should toggle On and Off with each press. If it does not, then the PC has never booted and the problem is much deeper than just one of "no display".

kiwiguy,

You are correct, this thing is not booting up. It will access the hard drive for a brief moment, but then that is it.

Could the AGP port be locked-up, where it would'nt let the computer boot? Or do you think I have hard drive or mother board problems?

Thanks for the assistance!!!
