I have an Action Tec Home DSl Modem and I am attempting to connect a wireless router (Linkysis Wireless G). The modem does not have a ethernet port. Do I need a different modem? I asked for help from every support site (AOL,Verizon,Linksys,Action tec) no one has any helpful suggestions.....help!!!

if its just a USB modem ONLY then you may have problems connecting to therouter

whats the model of the linksys

The modem I have is Action Tec external USB Home DSL Modem M#UD800TP.they were made for AOL

that makes it a USB model - you will need a USB - LAN convertor

There is no such thing as a USB <-> Ethernet converter that will work for that modem. You need a new modem with an Ethernet port.
