Hi, my friend is having a little problem with her web browsers that I have honestly never seen before. She has Flock, Firefox, and Internet Explorer installed, and all of them were working fine up until yesterday. Now they just show a blank white screen when opened. She's already tried without her firewall on, and that didn't work.

Good chance it's a firewall or stack/WINSOCK problem. What firewall is used?

(From a JohnWill post)

TCP/IP stack repair options for use with Windows XP with SP2 or SP3.

Start, Run, CMD, OK to open a command prompt.

Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults: netsh winsock reset catalog

Reset TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ip reset reset.log

Reboot the machine.

Sorry it took me so long to respond, sorta forgot to get her to try these methods for a while. Well, due to the browsers not working, she can't download anything, and I both live too far away to get anything over to her and have dial-up so sending .exe files is painfully slow. She also has trouble with the CMD, there is apparently a password on it (which she figured out), but when the window opens her computer shuts down.

Reinstalling them also does nothing.
