Good morning all. I am running windows XP and I am having the following problems:
1) I can not get e-mail, I am denied access, I have checked with my provider and the problem is not on their end.
2) I can get on the internet with explorer but I am limited to very few sites i.e. I can get to google etc.

I have tried to run Adaware etc but I am limited as I can not go to get the updates etc. I am a step away from taking the bull by the horns and reformatting.

Please let me know if anyone has any suggestions.

You never mention what operating system you are using and whether you repartition your disk drive. It looks serious, you have no choice but to make a clean install of your windows operating system. If you have not repartition your hard disk, do so now, and install OS system in the C drive and your other application programmes, digital photos , mp3 collection etc. in other partitions. Should the OS system gets corrupted, you only reformat the C drive, and the rest will be safe.

check if the firewall is enabled. take control panel-> network connection-> properties-> advanced. Also in Internet Explorer, check the privacy settings. Lower it and see if it works.
