Package of frozen Pea's after giving instructions on what type of bowl to use & how much water (2 Tablespoons) says "then cover and place in Microwave"

Question #1: Cover with WHAT? That's all it says.

Q2: Any recommendations for cookbook's for a complete novice at Microwave & electric range cooking??

Microwave I have is a 900 Watt Model.

A paper towel or clean cloth hand towel will suffice -- it's just to keep the food from making a mess in your microwave. (Air pockets inside the food are heated and burst creating a mess to clean later.)

Never put metal in the microwave.

Never attempt to cook hard boiled eggs in the microwave -- you'll be sorry if you do (I was.)

If you are going to bake potatoes, poke them with a fork first all over the skin to vent the steam.

In general, try to avoid explosions.
