Mine is not a problem as such but more of a question. I have a copy of Win XP PRO installed on my computer. I have purchased a legitimate Win Home Edition CD from a retailer. When it comes does anyone know if I can just install it over my copy or do I have to format the hard drive and start from scratch? Or will I be able to change the serial number somehow to the legitimate one that will come with my real CD. Many thanks if someone can help.

To move from Pro to Home, you will have to perform a clean install

I think its always best to format and re-install - then its nice an clean and no ifs or maybes
