Alright so I'm going to buy a new sound card, what I am wondering is, will any sound blaster sound card be compatable with my gigabyte motherboard? If not what sound cards are compatable with my gigabyte mobo?

The only thing I would add, and that's only if you have audio produced now from the motherboard, is to disable onboard sound in the BIOS and then remove the onboard sound drivers from device manager before installing the Creative Labs sound card and drivers.
You should do the same if you have another card in there too.
(you may already know this but....maybe not.) Too many Creative installs go bad because they hate playing nice with other drivers.
