Hi,
I have an HP pavillion 7940 PC. Windows XP. I Know...it's old!!
I wanted to increase the ram. I am currently running a a PC133...128 ram stick and a 256 stick. I purchased a 512 stick but the computer can't see it!
The other sticks are 144 pin and the new one is 168. Is it the wrong ram? Or can't my older HP run on it?
Thanks for any help!

This is a no-brainer. Yes, you have the wrong RAM. The 168-pin chip will not work in the 144-pin socket, regardless of the size. The 168-pin RAM is DDR RAM and is not supported by your motherboard.
