New PC Software Troubles

716 Views 6 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Triple6
So I just built a new pc and have all the parts put together, everything seems to be working but when I boot it up, my connected monitor says there's no signal. Do I need to install a bios, is it already on the motherboard or is it related to the disk that came with the motherboard. When I put the disk in the external disk drive, it spins for a bit then the green light turns off and it stops. Still no signal from the monitor. Could anybody correct what I'm doing and let me know how to fix it? (My MB is an Asus Prime B350 PLUS by the way).

Trouble shooting steps are to swap out one item at a time. First check the cheapest thing: the video cable. Take one from a known working PC and see how that goes. Then swap the monitor, then the video card .
I don't have an available pc to swap parts with but I don't think it's a hardware issue. Possibly the motherboard if it is
It's hard to say which part is at fault without testing by swapping first. What makes you think it's the motherboard?
Only that a disk I think is the bios came with the motherboard so by my logic that links the motherboard and if the disk isn't the bios it'd be on the motherboard. I'm sorry, I'm new to this.
Any other suggestions to troubleshoot apart from using other parts?
Wrong section, this is a hardware issue not a multimedia(video, audio, images), and it's a duplicate thread. Please do not start multiple threads for the same question.
