Is this a brand-new laptop or did you purchase it second-hand? Did it boot into Safe Mode as soon as you turned it on, or did you go into Safe Mode for a specific reason? If the latter, what reason? Could you also specify the exact make & model of the laptop?

This is a new HP Intel Pentium laptop. I researched before purchasing it. All new laptops come with Save Mode. (take a look at Best Buy and in small print all laptops say S Mode) I thought it would be easy to get the laptop out of this mode but I have tried over and over to fix the problem. Thank you so much!

I purchased a new HP Intel Pentium and I can't download an antivirus. When I clicked on Superantivirus it says: For security & performance Windows 10 in S mode runs Microsoft-verified apps.

To get this app you'll need to switch out of S mode. Or, find a similar app in the store.

Get apps from the store.

I couldn't find an antivirus. Can you help me bypass this.

Thank you

S mode does not mean safe mode or 'save mode'.
S mode means that Windows Store apps are the only things allowed to install or run on the computer.
Safe Mode is a basic state of Windows that uses a limited set of drivers. It can be useful when diagnosing hardware/software issues.

To switch to Home or Pro from S Mode:

You cannot go back to S mode after doing this (not that it matters)

Also, note that SuperAntiSpyare is not an anti-virus program. You should already have Windows Security installed and that's the best option to avoid compatibility issues. You can also have SuperAntiSpyware as an anti-malware program though to run on occasion.

What is the exact model number(M/N) and product number(P/N) and serial number(S/N) on that new HP?

If that new HP has a working internet connection and can load its Windows operating system, please do the following in it:
Download and save the tsginfo.exe file.
After it's been downloaded and saved, double-click it to run it.
Information about your new HP will appear.
Return here to your thread, then copy-and-paste the ENTIRE text here.

Once I do this will I have normal mode? They want to control even the virus scan I can have. I’d like to use open source products and they are forcing me to use all of MS programs. I am very grateful for your help, I had no idea that S Mode was not Safe mode. I didn’t know what it was. Can I remove many of the apps MS has?

Thanks so much for your reply and assistance.

If you remove S mode you can install anything you like, including open source products.
DRPC's link should show how to do it, be sure to click on 'Windows 10' at the top first.

I would make sure you have left S mode, maybe by installing something that is not from MS as a test.
Then you can safely delete Microsoft stuff knowing you can replace it with whatever you wish.

Windows S mode allows only programs found in Microsoft’s store, free or paid. It is your computer and it is your decision. What you will find in their store is extremely limited. Microsoft is basically saying ‘ since you are very careless with your internet search and downloads, we won’t let you do all the things you want. Just trust us and download from our store!’
there are tons of free and trustworthy programs you can find from reputable sites such as cnet.com, filehippo.com. Microsoft disagrees and wants you to pay.
it is not hard at all to switch from S mode.
