Hi

A friend wants to use another language when he downloads foreign web pages from the net.

It is Tamil.

I went to Tools-Languages-Add, but it asked me for a Tiscali Disk, which I didn't have.

Any ideas for finding it on the Net or elsewhere ?

Thanks

Mike

I presume he wants to read Tamil newspapers or magazines on the web. Normally, there is an option to download the font when you first visit the site. For example, if you go to dinamani.com and can not view the font, you can click on "having font problems?..." on the top right hand corner.

Hi

I went to that page, but it asks to download an ActiveX programe (plus it has lots of pop ups) - Is this safe.

He also has Spyware blaster which blocks some Activex's ?

I guess I chose a wrong example! I downloaded the tmnews.ttf font from the site, saved it to windows\fonts\ directory, and am now able to view other newspapers and magazines in Tamil ( I do not read Tamil, but I think what shows up is in Tamil). (see http://www.indiapress.org/index.php/Tamil/400x60 for a selected listing), but not the Dinamani.com. Strange.

Daily Thanthi does not work, and for Viduthalai, you have to download another font, but it seems to work fine.
