I just purchased a new DVD burner this past weekend. Prior to my installation, I had a CD burner on the 2nd IDE cable as jumpered as Master, and a DVD rom I assume was jumpered as the slave on the cable.(I assume because instead of 3 sets of 2 pins, there were 4 sets of 2 pins on miy DVD rom, i.e. "::::".) I removed the DVD rom and jumpered the DVD burner as the slave, then installed and closed my pc. When I booted up again, instead of having D: as my cdrw and E: as my dvdrom, I now have D: as a cdrw, E: as a cdrw, and a somehow newly created F: which seems to be a virtual drive. Any idea of what I've done wrong? Do I need to update drivers? I did configure the drives so only the DVD burner was installed as the Master, but that virtual drive is now killing me being there, and for shallow appearance reasons I would like to have my cdrw installed if I could. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Just a guess, but if you installed nero with the new drive you may have installed nero's virtual drive. I forgot how to disable it.

No, I didnt install any of the programs that came with it (It came with Easy CD Creator, so it won't get installed at all). I have the latest version of Nero, so I plan to uninstall the old and install the new. Think when Nero gets re-installed it will recognize my DVD burner at all? and again, that darn virtual drive.....
