new built computer monitor will not turn on!

hi iam building a computer for my friend and i plugged in everything got everything right.. All that good stuff . And the monitor will not show. I hear the hardrive starting and everything seems good. But when i hit the restart button a beep goes on and on. Iam wondering whether it can be the wrong ram he baught or graphics card? its really frustrating please if anybody can be any of help it would greatly be appreciated . thanks :up:

If you are using an AGP Graphics card, make sure it is suitable for your motherboards AGP Speed/Frequency etc...

If you are using a PCI Graphics card make sure your jumper settings for the CPU/PCI bus/multipliers are correct. Making the PCI bus settings higher than 33 will result in your PCI devices not working or damaging your cards. But all this depends on the motherboard you are using.
