1) clicking on juno it says my modem is in use by another program (netzero); 2) When I do use netzero, it boots without a sound, but juno belches, squeaks and pings. Why does my modem misbehave so?

I found a soulution. This message was suggested by a member of another forum: Make sure you're modem is NOT connected to the internet at the time. Go to Control Panel/Phone and Modem Options and click on the Modem tab, click on the modem listed and click on properties.
In the new dialogue box that comes up click on Advanced. At the text box under the words Extra Initialization Command type ATM0 (number 0 not letter O). Click on OK, then OK again.
