Ok, I have just set up a network consisting of 3 computers (one is a laptop running Win98). The other computers are running Win98 and WinXP. They are connected to a 10/100 hub. The laptop is using a 10mbps card (Xircom Creditcard Ethernet Adapter) whilst the others all have 100mbps cards. According to the hub the 2 other computers connect with Full Duplex, but the laptop does not. I am having trouble getting the laptop to access the files of the other two computers. It can see the two other computers in Network Neighbourhood only occasionally.. they seem to come and go... the other two computers can access the files on the laptop fine. No problems at all.
Has anyone got any suggestions as to why the laptop is having problems? I'm sorry if this post is a little "all over the place", I'm kind of in a hurry ;)
Anyway, any suggestions would be welcomed! Thanks

The laptop will never connect at full duplex because it doesn't support it. If the rest of the PC's on the network keep fading in and out I would suspect a hardware problem. Could be a faulty NIC or bad wiring causing your problems.
