I live in a two story house and we have four computers in total. There are two on the first floor and two (one of which is a labtop) in the basement rooms. One of the destops upstairs is connected to the internet via an ethernet card and high speed internet access. What is the most user friendly and cost effective way to connect all computers to the internet? (We all have ethernet cards.) Please explain throroughly since we are not very computer savvy.

Thanks for replying so quickly.
It is cable hook up to the internet.
How much do routers and the broadband thing cost?

Grab yourself a broadand router. Other than the configs on the computers, that's all you should need. The broadband modem will plug into the router and the computers plug into the router.

However, since it's two floors I'm not sure how pretty that'll be with cables strung all over. There's always the option of wireless but that would require you get new wireless cards for your computers too (pricey!).

DSL or Cable?
